OSCAR NOMINATIONS 2022

This year's Oscar nominations have been unveiled, honouring the movie industry's finest from the past 12 months. Huge congratulations to all nominated including some of our lovely UV clients!

Belfast has been nominated for BEST PICTURE which stars Colin Morgan as local criminal and sectarian rabble-rouser Billy Clanton.

The wonderful Olivia Colman is nominated for BEST ACTRESS in The Lost Daughter.  She plays middle-aged college professor and noted translator, Leda Caruso who whilst holidaying in Greece confronts her unsettling past after meeting a woman and her young daughter. Her obsession with the woman and her daughter prompts memories of her early motherhood.  This is Olivia's second nomination for Best Actress after winning the Oscar at the 91st Academy Awards in 2019.

Jessie Buckley has been nominated for her first Oscar in the BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS category for The Lost Daughter.  She is in fact playing the younger version of Olivia Colman's character Leda in flashbacks.

The Mitchells vs. the Machines is nominated for BEST ANIMATED FEATURE FILM.  Olivia Colman voices the lead role of ‘Pal’ in this lovely family film about The Mitchells, a dysfunctional family, that must fight a robot apocalypse amidst their much-awaited road trip to save humanity.

The 94th Academy Awards will take place on Sunday 27 March.
